Electric unicycle repair guides
What you can check at home before booking a pickup — and the signs that it is a job for the bench. Written by the people who open the wheels.
Tires, the motor and cutouts
Pressure, the hall sensors and what a cutout leaves behind: the checks that tell a tire problem from a board problem — and when the wheel should not be ridden at all.
Electric unicycle tire pressure
Where to start by tire size and rider weight, and why a soft tire ends in a pinch flat.
Motor hall error and a jerky wheel
The fault that follows a tire change or a crash: what it means and why you should not ride on it.
What to check after a cutout
A stiff wheel, a burnt smell, a beep that will not stop: how to tell a burnt board from a scare.
Battery and charging
Most wheels that "lose range" have one weak pack, not a dead battery. Here is how to tell a charger fault from a pack in protection.
Onewheel
Pressure is the cheapest fix on a Onewheel and the one most riders get wrong.
When to stop and book a pickup
- The wheel is stiff to turn by hand after a cutout. Do not power it on again.
- A pack is swollen, wet, smells or gets hot without riding. Do not charge it — text us first.
- "Motor hall error" or a jerky, stuttering wheel. It can drop you at speed.
- A crack at a pedal hanger, or a pedal that moves when it should not.
